Reporting the stories worth understanding.

Have something we should investigate?

Send a story lead, document, photograph, recording or other information directly to the Crazy News newsroom. You do not need to give us your name or email address.

No identity field. This form does not ask who you are and Crazy News does not deliberately add your IP address or browser information to the tip delivered to our newsroom.

Identity

No name required

There is no name, account, phone number or email field in the anonymous submission form.

Storage

No tip database

Successful submissions are forwarded to the newsroom mailbox rather than deliberately retained in an application database.

Honesty

No false security claims

This is not SecureDrop. Hosting companies and network providers may maintain technical logs outside this application.

Anonymous form

Send it to the newsroom

Give us enough information to understand what happened and where we should begin verifying it. You can attach supporting material if you have it.

A short description, for example: “Documents concerning local housing contract”.

Explain what happened, how you know, when and where it happened, and what a reporter could check independently.

Optional. Up to 5 files, maximum 8 MB each and 15 MB combined. Common documents, images, video and audio are accepted.

The form deliberately contains no contact-information field. Do not identify yourself inside the message unless you actually want the newsroom to know who you are.

After you press send

A tip is a starting point, not automatic publication.

01

We assess it

A reporter may first need to understand the claim, examine supporting material and determine whether there is a realistic way to verify it.

02

We verify independently

Documents, timelines, records, witnesses and other independent sources may be required before information can be treated as established.

03

Publication is not guaranteed

Some tips lead to reporting. Others cannot be verified or fall outside our editorial priorities. Sending information does not by itself create a promise of publication or response.
