Sensitive material

Some information should not go through an ordinary contact form.

Normal correspondence does not require specialised handling. But occasionally a source may hold information whose disclosure could expose them or another person to serious consequences.

That can include information involving employment retaliation, serious allegations, confidential records, legal exposure, personal safety or material capable of causing severe reputational damage if mishandled.

Sensitive route

Do not put high-risk source material in the general form.

Use [email protected] or our dedicated anonymous submission page instead.

If revealing who you are could place you at significant risk, avoid identifying yourself unnecessarily and read the security guidance on the tip page before submitting material.

Submit sensitive information

Existing articles

Help us identify the story quickly.

If your message concerns something Crazy News has already published, include the article title and URL whenever possible.

If you are referring to one particular sentence, image, quotation, statistic or claim, identify it specifically. Precise messages are much easier for the newsroom to review than a general description of an entire article.

Newsroom

We want useful contact, not unnecessary barriers.

You do not need the perfect subject line to write to us.

If your message belongs with Crazy News, send it. If it concerns a particular article, include the link. If it concerns a factual error, use corrections. If it contains sensitive source material, use the protected route rather than the ordinary contact form.

The newsroom may not be able to respond to every message, but correspondence can still be useful even when it does not receive an individual reply.
